The Legacy

Wednesday, January 6, 2010
So many passages of scripture have impacted me at different seasons. God always knows just what my spirit and my soul needs from Him to bring me out, up and over. But having been raised with a praying father, there is one scripture that has stood up in me with impact through the years, since I was a child and first experienced this operation of the Holy Spirit.

Rom 8:26-27
26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
NKJV

My Daddy taught me this passage through out my childhood. He not only read it to me, had me read it to him, and then instructed me in it.....but I often heard him praying and this type of prayer was rehearsed in my hearing. Daddy would get lost and pray for hours in this manner.

He would take a little break during what he called a "season of prayer" and come where I was to talk and teach me about prayer. He would say "Baby, you are not always gonna have me with you, so I want you to know how to pray the kind of prayer that moves the hand of God. He will always answer this kind of prayer."

Through the years I have found Daddy to be right, and I have found that my heavenly DADDY anticipates prayer from my lips but He longs for this kind of effectual fervent prayer to pour from my spirit. Through the years I have never ever known this kind of prayer to be powerless or ineffective.

What a powerful weapon this has proven to be. It is my deepest pleasure to teach others what Daddy has taught me.

Daddy has left me a legacy.
